At HiSUi TOKYO we offer trial lessons to those who are interested in enrolling in lessons.

During the Trial lesson, prospective students will have the chance to observe existing student’s lessons to see how lessons flow and experience the atmosphere of a lesson.
Prospective students shall also receive separate specialized instruction during this time.
Trial lessons will be conducted during standard lesson hours.

HiSUi TOKYO Trial Lesson (75 min.)


Kimono Dressing (Waso) 5,000 yen (Tax exc.)

We offer a “Tehodoki” entry-level course (where we introduce how to wear the “Matchi-gi” / street wear Kimono which consists of the “Komon” Kimono and “Nagoya-Obi” waistband over the course of 10 sessions) as part of our Waso Curricula. Our Waso instructors will guide you through the order and process of wearing a Kimono, using themselves as models.

Japanese Calligraphy (Shodo) 5,000 yen (Tax exc.)

In the HiSUi TOKYO Shodo trial course, you will be guided through the basics of how to hold the calligraphy brush correctly, as well as proper writing posture. You will be instructed in writing horizontal strokes, vertical strokes, dots, strokes to the left and right with force and flicked strokes.

Tea Ceremony (Sado) 5,000 yen (Tax exc.)

Come and enjoy a relaxing cup of tea in our tea room, “SUIAN”, while learning about how to enjoy Matcha (green tea) to the fullest with an introduction to the characteristics of the tea ceremony.

Sword (Batto) 10,000 yen (Tax exc.)

After using a mock sword to learn how to correctly swing a sword, batto (unsheathe a sword) and noutou (sheathe a sword), you will be given the chance to cut using a real sword.
